The Northern Forest Center : $20,000 For general support of this organization, which aims to build a public consensus to conserve and enhance the cultural, civic, economic and ecological wealth of the Northern Forest. SoutheastAppalachian Voices: $15,000 Recommended for the Model Forest Policy Program, which works to develop forest practices legislation in states in the southeastern U.S. Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisana : $20,000 For general support of this organization, which works for the restoration and stewardship of the bays, wetlands and estuaries of coastal Louisiana. Dogwood Alliance : $45,000 For general support of this organization, which seeks to protect southern forests by strengthening the network of forest protection advocates, building statewide coalitions, and reducing demand for forest products. Gulf Restoration Network : $25,000 For support of its Wetlands Defense Campaign, which aims to reform policies and practices of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in an effort to stem wetland losses in the Gulf region. Southern Environmental Law Center : $40,000 For support of its Forest and Wetland Biodiversity Project, which works to improve policies on forests and wetlands conservation in six southeastern states. SouthWings, Inc : $20,000 For general support of this organization, which uses data collection and forest overflights as tools for promoting the preservation and restoration of the forest ecosystems of the Southeast. Wild Alabama : $20,000 For general support of this organization, which seeks to protect the biodiversity of Alabama and other southern forests, both on public and private lands. Wild Law: $15,000 To provide support for a coordinator for WildLaw’s Southern Forests Network project. NationalAmerican Lands Alliance : $30,000 For general support of this organization, whose activities include working to protect national forests by providing policymakers and the public with science-based wildfire protection plans. Forest Ethics: $10,000 For support of a meeting on how to improve the effectiveness of markets campaigns. Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP) : $30,000 To support IATP's Community Forestry Resource Center, which provides outreach and technical assistance to private forest landowners and their communities and helps them establish Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified forestry cooperatives. National Wildlife Federation: $25,000 For its Emergency Wetlands Protection Project, which seeks to retain as much protection for isolated wetlands as possible and to work to restore protection for isolated waters under the Clean Water Act, and to facilitate information exchanges to conservation groups working at the state level. Environmental Law Institute : $40,000 For support of its Center for Support of Native Lands, which works to protect the land rights of indigenous groups in Latin America, map their territories, and collaborate with them on environmental assessments.
Harrop-Procter Watershed Protection Society : $20,000 For support of the Harrop-Procter Community Forest Project, which aims to demonstrate economically viable, ecosystem-based community forestry.
International Human Rights Law Group : $25,000 For its Strategic Human Rights Lawyering on Indigenous Land Rights program in Chile and Guatemala, which aims to train human rights NGOs and environmental groups to help them develop strategies to advocate for title to their lands.

Center for International Environmental Law : $35,000 For general support of this organization, which aims to reform international economic institutions, strengthen international environmental law, protect individuals and communities, and build public interest law capacity.
Rainforest Alliance : $35,000 For support of its Sustainable Agriculture Program, a green certification program for agricultural producers in Latin America that reduces environmental impacts and improves the social aspects of production.
Environmental Support Center: $35,000 For the second year of a joint project with the Institute for Conservation Leadership to provide capacity building and technical assistance services for environmental organizations in seven southeastern states – North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. (Second installment of a two-year $70,000 grant.)

National Wildlife Federation : $30,000 Recommended for support of the Unified Endangered Species Defense Campaign, an effort led by seven NGOs to help maintain protection for endangered species and ensure that there is no erosion in the nation's ability to conserve declining wildlife and ecosystems.
Potomac Riverkeeper: $15,000 For general support of this organization, which works synergistically with local communities, governments, non-profits, and businesses, to protect and restore the Potomac River and its headwaters in West Virginia to the Chesapeake Bay, through citizen action, advocacy, and enforcement.
