Environment and Development Fellowship $199,000

Amazon Alliance: $10,000 For planning of its Indigenous Exchange on Territory and Conservation meeting.

Center for the Support of Native Lands: $15,000 For a study of the relations that indigenous peoples and their organizations have with donor agencies.

Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana: $30,000 For support of the Coalition's work to educate the public and decision makers of the critical need to conserve and restore the wetlands, water and barrier shorelines of coastal Louisiana.

Environmental Leadership Program (ELP): $85,000 For the Jack Vanderryn Fellowship Program, which supports young environmental leaders working in the southeastern United States.

Environmental Support Center (ESC): $35,000 For its Strengthening Organizations and Leaders for the Environment (SOLE) program.

Friends of the Earth–Canada: $10,000 For confronting Guatemala’s Gold Rush: from the Grassroots to the International, a joint project with Ceiba in Guatemala to address the growing problems associated with the mining sector in Guatemala, by coordinating an international coalition to challenge mining in Guatemala; to engage the Canadian government and mining companies to try to mitigate the damage their activities are causing; and to mobilize a coalition to try to stop World Bank funding of mining in Guatemala until the indigenous and environmental rights issues are resolved.

National Environmental Trust: $10,000 For its Global Species Rescue Campaign, a national policy, media and constituency-building campaign to multiply the present US financial commitment to global biodiversity conservation by a factor of ten.

Potomac Riverkeeper: $4,000 For general support of this organization, whose mission is to work synergistically with local communities, governments, non-profits, and businesses, to protect and restore the Potomac River from its headwaters in West Virginia to the Chesapeake Bay, through citizen action, advocacy, and enforcement.
