Policy Analysis and Advocacy to Promote Reproductive Rights and HealthAmerican Social Health Association (ASHA): $30,000 For its HPV project, which seeks to educate women and girls, national organizations, policy makers and the media about the prevention of cervical cancer and sexually transmitted infections. Legal Momentum: $30,000 For its Immigrant Women’s Program, which strives to help immigrant women – particularly those who are victims of domestic violence – to live safe and economically secure lives, so they may fulfill their dreams for themselves and their children in the United States. (Second installment of a two-year, $60,000 grant) National Economic and Social Rights Initiative (NESRI): $20,000 For its Human Right to Health Program, which promotes the integration of international human rights standards into health policy in the United States. National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA): $40,000 For general support of this organization, which works to ensure access to voluntary, confidential family planning and other sexual and reproductive health services. National Health Law Program (NHeLP): $30,000For its Initiative to Promote Reproductive Health for Low-Income Women, which seeks to protect, promote, and expand low-income women’s access to quality reproductive health services. (Second installment of a two-year, $60,000 grant) National Partnership for Women and Families: $220,000 For (a) its Access to Quality Health Care and Reproductive Health and Rights initiatives, which seek to promote access to comprehensive health services, improve the quality of health care, and protect and advance women’s reproductive rights ($50,000 per year for five years); (b) its endowment campaign, designed to provide financial stability and flexibility for the organization in the years to come ($150,000 per year for five years); and c) general support ($20,000). National Women’s Health Network: $50,000 For general support of this organization, which seeks to ensure that women have self-determination in all aspects of their reproductive and sexual health; to establish universal health care that meets the needs of diverse women; and to protect the health of all women by challenging the inappropriate medicalization of women’s sexual and reproductive lives. National Women’s Law Center (NWLC): $50,000 For (a) its Reproductive Rights and Health Program, which seeks to improve women’s access to reproductive health services ($30,000); and (b) the first installment of a $100,000 grant for its endowment, (approved by the Moriah board in November 2007) ($20,000). Reproductive Health Technologies Project (RHTP): $25,000 For its Assisted Reproductive Technologies project, which seeks to prioritize women’s health and well-being in a policy agenda for assisted reproductive technologies. |
